CALPACS 2021 Fall Luncheon and General Meeting

Flavio da Cruz, Project Manager for the Low Carbon Resources Group at SoCal Gas Research, Development and Demonstration will inform us of hydrogen’s future in the energy grid. We will recognize our fifty-year members, present our section awards and report the section’s progress to you in our general meeting. Hydrogen’s Role in the Future of California’s Energy Grid: Flavio da Cruz is a Project Manager for the Low Carbon Resources group under the Research, Development, and Demonstration department at SoCalGas. Flavio has extensive experience in engineering design, project implementation, and research of natural gas processing and hydrogen production systems. Author of four peer-reviewed papers and more than ten conference papers, Flavio holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UCLA and his research production spans experimental process intensification of reactive separation systems to multiscale modeling of steam methane reforming reactors. Flavio is also an active member of AIChE and ASME. Over the last fifteen years, Flavio has supported the implementation of complex projects in a variety of areas including renewable energy generation and hydrogen production.
